I was pleasantly surprised by the response to my telling you I wash my face with oil. To confirm that the Oil Cleansing Method is the way to go (for me, at least), I’ve gone back to “normal” (read: store-bought) facewash due to my current travel schedule. As a frequent business-traveler, I have small bottles of everything I’d ever need, so I’d popped one into my quart-sized, zip-top bag before flying out here to NYC.
My face got so dry. The sides of my nose were red and flaky. I looked like a bad flu in the middle of January. Not hot.
As soon as I got home to Chicago last week I transferred some of my beloved oil mixture into a small nalgene container to use for the rest of my time here in Brooklyn. I’m already noticing improvement.
Anyway, I thought you’d enjoy these other posts on natural beauty methods:
Ashley of Our Little Apartment doesn’t use shampoo. You may have heard of other people doing this, but I love how open Ashley is about it. She provides follow-up and answers reader questions along the way.
Rebecca of The Daily Muse shared a homemade toner recipe on Design Mom the other week. I don’t normally use toner, but if I’m going to be buying Apple Cider Vinegar to make my own non-conditioner, I may as well make non-toner as well!
Have you tried going shampoo-free? Do you make your own skincare? Please share your own links and recipes!
