Home Candy: Cheery Doorways
In my condo, we have rules about the doors. It makes sense – in the name of hallway harmony – that we all bear the same hollow-core light wood doors, but it doesn’t stop me from dreaming of doors like these:

There’s something so unexpected about bright, cheery doors… and I love all things unexpected in home decor.

How could you not be happy entering this home?

I suppose I could make my interior doors a little more festive… but they currently match the external door and that gives me pause. Plus, they are wood, and there’s the eternal don’t-paint-wood debate. Sigh.
Someday, my front door will be as cheery as these.

Oh, how I love colorful front doors! One day I hope to live in a house with a beautiful candy apple red door to welcome folks to our home.
That orange one is great! My mom always wanted a red front door and last year after living in their house for 17 yrs she finally got it and she says it makes her happy everyday!
The neighbours next door have a bright yellow door that really adds a splash of colour to their otherwise-slightly-grim stone house. More colour should be in the world!
Have you thought about removable wallpaper on the inside of your door to avoid the “you ruined the wood” argument?
Ohhh, great idea!
