Today begins the first day of my two-week Christmas vacation. Yep, I’m off of work until 2012! Technically, this break started last Friday, but this past weekend was utterly consumed (in the best way possible – friends getting married!).
As with any down-time, I have big goals. I’m going to scrub every surface in the condo! Steam-clean the floors! Finish every craft project I ever started! Touch-up a splotchy paint job in the bathroom and along the baseboards!
I tried to do many of these things over Thanksgiving. I wrote a long list of things I was going to do and only managed to get through a few.
So, slightly revised goals:
- Work out in the gym downstairs daily. Come on, I don’t even have to go outside to get there – it’s downstairs.
- Catch up on Revenge and Downton Abbey.
- Read.
- Finish Christmas shopping (I’m terrible).
- Perhaps clean some of the things, time-permitting.
I hope you are all able to take some time off and relax at the end of the year!

Clean ALL the things!
Ha
My to-do list for the rest of this week is:
- go to my last aerobics class for the year tonight
- buy needed ingredients for Chex mix and cookies
- make cookies and chex mix (before Saturday)
- buy and wrap one last present
- read. because it’s good for me.
but yes I also should clean a bit more thoroughly, including mopping the kitchen floor, getting the bathroom sinks/mirrors, taking out the recycling… oy
I just ran some errands (and finished up some Christmas shopping) so I feel slightly virtuous.
I’m jealous you have a gym downstairs.
I will be making reindeer food, decorating ornaments, baking cookies ( ok pre sliced but who is keeping track?) who cares if glitter gets stuck in the hard wood floors? We love glitter! Sit back and relax. I have a list a mile long too, but my girls they are on the top!
That’s perfect that the girls are on the top of your list – you have to keep things in perspective!
